Xbox 360 Windows 7 Theme is dedicated to the Xbox 360 gaming consoles from Microsoft. This Windows 7 Theme has been created on the request of mohit who requested an xbox theme. Xbox is the second generation of Microsoft’s gaming consoles and was released on November 22, 2005, in the United States and Canada; December 2, 2005, in Europe and December 10, 2005, in Japan. This was the successor to Microsoft’s first console Xbox released in 2001. The console was redesigned and a slimmer console named Xbox 360 S was released in 2010. Since then, the earlier models such as Xbox 360 Core, Xbox 360 Elite and Xbox 360 Arcade have been discontinued. Xbox 360 is one of the three top gaming consoles worldwide right now and competes with Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. As of September 30, 2011, 57.6 million Xbox 360 consoles have been sold worldwide making it the second most sold gaming console worldwide of the current generation after Nintendo Wii. However, many argue that Xbox 360 is a far more powerful console compared to Nintendo Wii and so, overall sales comparison might be unfair. And it was only in 2010 that Microsoft reduced the price of the Xbox 360 consoles. The popularity of Xbox 360 also increased rapidly after the release of Kinect which is a controller-free gaming and entertainment experience for the Xbox 360 console. The add-on peripheral enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without a game controller by using gestures, spoken commands and presented objects and images. The Kinect accessory is compatible with all Xbox 360 models, connecting to new models via a custom connector, and to older ones via a USB and mains power adapter. Microsft’s online gaming service Xbox Live also adds to the popularity with over 30 million subscribers as of now. Microsoft has mentioned that they will let the Xbox 360 console run till 2015 when they plan to release their next generation of consoles. However, unnamed sources have claimed that Microsoft’s next video game console is being slated for release as early as the 2013 holiday season. Halo 3 has been the most popular game in the console with over 14.5 million sales till date. Xbox 360 is also known for it’s wider range of video games compared to any of it’s competitors. These includes some of the world’s most popular games such as Halo and Gear of War which are exclusive to Xbox 360 console.
